Here are a few news articles talking about different issues in Atlantic Canada.  Please pick one issue which you think is most important, and read the article covering it.

Youth Mental Helath: https://globalnews.ca/news/3356231/children-mental-health-atlantic-canada/

Fisheries: https://www.moon.com/travel/outdoors/top-environmental-issue-atlantic-ca...

Climate Change: https://www.nsenvironmentalnetwork.com/blog/climate-change-in-atlantic-c...

Shrinking and Aging Population: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/how-the-maritimes-became-c...

After readin about the issue you think is most important, look at the website of one of Canada's biggest political parties to see how they want to fix the issue, or if they even want to at all.

Liberal Party: https://liberal.ca/our-platform/

Conservative Party: https://www.conservative.ca/plan/

New Democratic Party (N.D.P.): https://www.ndp.ca/commitments

Green Party: https://www.greenparty.ca/en/platform

People's Party: https://www.peoplespartyofcanada.ca/platform

I am only asking you to look at one issue and one party, but if you want to look at more, feel free to! This is just for you to look at and think about yourself. :)

September 14th: 6E Technology

Please access the Dance Party, Minecraft Hour of Code, or A.I. For Oceans coding activities under this link.  They say they are supposed to take an hour, but you don't need to use them for that long.  Just pick one, play around with it, and get used to it a little bit sometime today.

Please watch the videos in the following links:

Voting in a Democracy - YouTube

Why Voting Matters - YouTube

After watching these videos, think about these questions and consider the answers to yourself:

1) What is the role of government? Or what is government supposed to do?

2) What power do people have in a democracy?

3) Who makes decisions and laws in Canada?
